Zach is a Research Assistant with the Applied Social Media Lab, designing and developing tools for better online social experiences. They come to the lab with over 8 years of experience as a Product Designer working in emerging tech across entertainment, medical devices, and social platforms. Passionate about designing technology for social good, they have spoken in multiple venues (including the Game Developer’s Conference, Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design, and Northeastern University) on XR, ethical design in practice, and the impact of technology on social spaces.

They are currently a Masters of Design Studies candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Design where they focus on creating technology to encourage emotional intimacy and develop emotional intelligence skills.
