Alice Jo is a Research Assistant with the Applied Social Media Lab, where she helps to develop and amplify technology that serves the public good. She is drawn to work that makes digital spaces safer and more empowering as sites of creative and civic engagement. Alice studied English and International & Public Affairs at Brown University, where she contributed to the Pandemic Journaling Project’s digital archive and exhibitions about communities’ experiences of Covid-19. She holds a Master's in Digital Culture & Society from King's College London, where she focused on interventions for online harms. She has previously worked backstage at concerts and in classrooms as a teaching assistant and mentor for young students. She enjoys making playlists, writing, and running around New England.
